Borough of Brielle, NJ

April 27 2017

In anticipation of the summer season the Borough has successfully implemented an inter-connection with the Township of Wall to enhance emergency service while we await the construction of a new water tank.

In addition, the Borough has rehabilitated the well at the Old Bridge Water Plant to further enhance water pressure and ensure the integrity of the potable water system.

These measures, while beneficial to our residents, do require coordination between the various components of the water system.

During the period late April through May, 2017 residents may experience some variations in pressure and discoloration of water at various locations throughout the Borough. This condition is similar to what you experience during annual hydrant flushing.
The water remains safe and potable and any discoloration should clear by simply letting the water run for a few minutes until the system stabilizes.

We regret any inconvenience and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. Every effort is being made to construct the new tank as expeditiously as possible and restore full service to all residents as quickly as the mandatory bid process will allow. Thank you.
