MINUTES MAY 18th, 2010 SPECIAL MEETING.
PRESENT: MAYOR NICOL, COUN. GARRUZZO, NOLAN & SHAAK. BOROUGH ADMINISTRATOR THOMAS NOLAN
ABSENT: COUN. GORHAM, SCOTT & VISCEGLIA.
MAYOR NICOL OPENED THE MEETING IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN PUBLIC MEETINGS ACT AND AFTER A MOMENT OF SILENT PRAYER AND A SALUTE TO THE FLAG COUN. GARRUZZO, SECONDED BY COUN. SHAAK, INTRODUCED RESOLUTION 10-51.
There being no further public comments, Coun. Garruzzo, seconded by Coun. Shaak, introduced Resolution 10-51.

Whereas, the Open Public Meetings Act permits the exclusion of the Public from a meeting in certain circumstances; and Whereas, the Borough Council of the Borough of Brielle is of the opinion that such circumstances currently exist. Now Therefore Be It Resolved, by the Borough Council of the Borough of Brielle, County of Monmouth, State of New Jersey, on May 18th, 2010, as follows:
1. The Public shall be excluded from discussion of and action upon the hereinafter specified subject matters.

2. The general nature of the subject matter to be discussed is as follows: "Contract Negotiations".

3. It is anticipated at this time that the above stated subject matters will be made public when the need for confidentiality no longer exists.
Vote: Coun. Garruzzo, Nolan, Shaak; all aye. No nays. Passed.

The Executive Session began at 5:05 p.m. and ended at 5:30 p.m. The session was adjourned on a motion by Coun. Garruzzo, seconded by Coun. Nolan.
Coun. Nolan, seconded by Coun. Garruzzo, introduced Resolution 10-52 to authorize the Mayor & Clerk to execute a memorandum of agreement with the Brielle Public Works Employees Association. Vote: Coun. Garruzzo, Nolan & Shaak; all aye. No nays. Passed.
Coun. Garruzzo, seconded by Coun. Nolan, introduced Resolution 10-53 to authorize the extension of all annual professional contracts through 12/31/12 with a codicil that all professional employees would now contribute 1.5% of the cost of their health benefits.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:32 p.m. on a motion by Coun. Shaak seconded by Coun. Garruzzo.
